With a career over a quarter-century at 3M Companies, Somnuk assumed pivotal leadership roles in top management positions of various product divisions. His purview extended across Security Systems, Safety and Security Products, Information Technology & Imaging, Traffic Control Devices, and Materials for Government Markets, Industrial and consumer seders as well as corporate marketing services.
Somnuk’s significant contributions extended to the establishment of groundbreaking government programs. Among these notable achievements are the creation of citizen security ID card systems for Thailand and Laos, the enhancement of vehicle registration & license plate, driving license and vehicle tax programs.
Within the industrial and commercial sectors, Somnuk functioned as Business Group Head covering extensive product divisions serving automotive and transport industries, Occupational Health & Environmental Safety, Commercial Care products, Printing and Publishing products, Chemicals, Consumer Products, DIY, and Personal Care Products. His notable achievement included pioneering the establishment of the 3M Graphics System production plant serving automotive industry.
In 1973, he assumed the role of International Business Development Manager for the entire Asia Pacific Region, which encompassed Japan, Australia, and India. His primary focus centered on developing and nurturing the growth of business units throughout the region. Somnuk made significant contributions to new product innovation, spanning safety and security products, visual systems, and commercial & consumer products.
Somnuk co-founded Intellectual Products Protection Limited (IPP), a firm specializing in Brand Protection and government program consultation and solution providers. This entity later transformed into Aloko Asia, with a primary focus on serving government and Fortune 500 corporations. Its services ranged from conceptualization to overseeing deliverable media manufacturing and supply chain monitoring.
